Local scoreboard from yesterday, at the cross-country sectionals, the Chino Valley girls came away section champs, with Eliana Metz finishing sixth. The Chino boys were sixth and qualified for state. The Prescott boys were sixth and the girls seventh at their section meets, with both squads qualifying for state. Bradshaw Mountain produced three state qualifiers: Michael Simon, Preston Nichols, and Sara Harmon.
In soccer, for the guys, Embry-Riddle blanked Arizona Christian 1-nil. Brandon Pulido notched the Eagles’ lone goal. Chino Valley dismantled Williams 8-0, with Angel Sanchez scoring twice. For the ladies, Embry-Riddle overpowered Arizona Christian 5-2, with Jamie Black notching four goals. Chino Valley lost to Blue Ridge 5-3. Livia McMains had two goals.
In swim, the Prescott boys topped Flagstaff 97-37, while the Prescott girls lost to Flag 86-74. Eli Buettner won the boys’ 100 fly and 100 back, and Anwen Smith won the girls’ 50 free and 100 fly.
