We all know that Prescott is Arizona’s Christmas City. Halloween in Prescott is also a favorite, well-attended holiday, drawing thousands of ghouls and goblins from all over the Central Highlands.
In the interest of public safety, the City of Prescott will be closing the following areas to vehicle traffic for the many popular neighborhood Halloween events on Thursday. Closures will include a public safety presence, light towers, portable toilets, and additional solid waste containers.
Mt Vernon Ave/Senator Hwy will be closed from Willis Street to Haisley Road at 3:30 p.m. Please note that Gurley Street will remain open to east/west traffic. This closure will also affect Mt Vernon and Senator Hwy at the following side streets:
- Summit Point Drive
- Palmer Place
- Oak, Carleton, and Goodwin Streets
Country Club Drive will be closed from Park Ave to Coronado Ave at 3:00 p.m. No parking along Country Club will be posted for the entire day. This closure will also affect Country Club Drive at the following side streets:
- Vista Drive
- Perry Street
- Aspen Street
- Moreland Drive
All roads are anticipated to reopen by 10:00 p.m. or when the Prescott Police Department determines it is safe to do so. Drivers are asked to exercise patience and caution when driving around these areas, as there will be a high volume of pedestrian traffic.
