Prescott National Forest fire crews will conduct prescribed burns in the Verde Ranger District through most of November.
The Crater RX burn will target more than 2,800 acres of brush, grass, and pines just south of Cherry. The Grapevine/Strawberry RX burn will target 7,144 acres of brush, grass, and pines near Dewey.
The objective of these prescribed burns is to improve conditions for native vegetation by reducing shrub and juniper fuels. The smoke impact from these burns should be light to moderate. The prescribed burns are scheduled to begin November 3 and last until November 29.
