YC Soccer Players Earn All-Region Honors

Post-season awards poured in for the Yavapai College soccer teams. The men had a trio of players make the All-Region One team. Defender Eric Quirarte made the first team, while midfielder Ricardo Juarez and forward Ian Lama were second-team selections. Their efforts helped the Roughriders reach the Region One championship game.

For the Yavapai women, the biggest award went to Tallon Bennett, who was named the region’s Goalkeeper of the Year. She made 71 saves this season with a goals-against average of 0.53 and a save percentage of .947. Additionally, Keira Campbell made the All-Region first team, scoring four goals this season. Second-team selections included Sophia Fottrell, who recorded four goals and two assists, forward Reagan Peterson, and defender Chloe Brand. They helped Yavapai finish with a 6-7-5 record.
