Broadband Coming to the Verde Villages

The Verde Villages along Highway 260 near Cottonwood is slated to receive broadband services.

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter announced that the Yavapai County Broadband Initiative is working with Sparklight to begin the installation of broadband, both aerial and underground, in early December. This is being funded with an allocation from the federal American Rescue Plan Act, which will provide high-speed broadband service to the property line of 4,411 homes and businesses along the north and south sides of Highway 260.

Yavapai County officials and Sparklight will host three meetings in the cafeteria of Mingus Union High School at 6 p.m. on November 21st, 25th, and 26th. Information will be provided by Yavapai County staff about the history of the project, what areas of the county are receiving connectivity, and the process of selecting the contractors.
