CAFMA Offers Cooking Tips in Time for Thanksgiving

Many people will spend their Thanksgiving cooking for relatives, and officials with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority want to make sure they do it safely.

They recommend staying in the kitchen when cooking food at high heat and keeping flammable items away from the stove. It’s also a good idea to keep pot handles turned inward to avoid spills. Timers should be used when baking to prevent distractions.

Taking these precautions is important, as cooking is the leading cause of home fires in the country.
