CAFMA Installs Smoke Alarms for Hard of Hearing Residents

Thanks to the efforts of Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority personnel and volunteers, twenty homes in the Tri-City area now have smoke alarms specifically designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

CAFMA conducted the Smoke Alarm Walk last Friday and installed 21 smoke alarms that use strobe lights and vibrations to alert those who are hard of hearing to a fire. In addition, 16 carbon monoxide detectors and nine standard smoke alarms were installed in these homes.

These alarms were provided and installed at no cost to the homeowners.
