The Chino Valley Police Department received a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to help make the town’s roads safer.
The $24,000 grant will fund five radar units and a LIDAR – or light detection and ranging – unit. Some of the funds will also be used for overtime pay for officers involved in impaired driving and speed enforcement patrols.
Chino Valley police officials say this money will help reduce impaired driving, prevent traffic accidents, and improve overall traffic safety.
