More work is scheduled this week on I-17 in Yavapai County, meaning drivers can expect another week of lane restrictions. ADOT officials say northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Bumble Bee Road and New River Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday to accommodate survey work, bridge work, and the installation of concrete barriers. Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane near Black Canyon City from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for electrical work.
Motorists traveling through the area should allow extra time to reach their destination and be alert for construction personnel and equipment. This is part of the I-17 improvement project, which is expected to be completed next year and will include the installation of flex lanes on this stretch of the interstate.
