PHS Boys Basketball Topped by Deer Valley

The Prescott boys basketball team opened their season Tuesday by beating pre-season ranked number one St. Mary’s. Thursday night, their tough first week of the season continued as they traveled to Glendale to take on the defending 4A Conference state champions Deer Valley . . . the team that also knocked the Badgers out of the state tournament last season.

Just like in that elite eight game, Prescott had a tough time against the Skyhawks, who pulled away in the fourth quarter after Zane Gaul fouled out. Deer Valley came away with the 64-45 victory. Both Gaul and Uriah Tenette notched 17 points.

The Badgers are now 1-1 on the season. They hit the road again Monday night when they head down to Phoenix to take on Arcadia. Tuesday is the last game of the month for Prescott as they host ALA Gilbert North.
