If President-elect Donald Trump makes good on his promise to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education, that could free up federal money for the states with few if any strings attached.
Speaking on a recent edition of the KYCA Morning Report, State Schools Superintendent Tom Horne explained where that money would be most needed:
The National Education Association reports the average teacher’s salary in Arizona is just over $60,000, which is 32nd among all states.
