With the new Prescott Valley town council members sworn in, one of the first things the council did at Wednesday’s meeting was select Matt Zurcher as the vice mayor.
Before the vote, Councilman Kenneth Freund made this suggestion:
Under the town code, the appointment of the vice mayor lasts until the next time the mayor is elected, but it is subject to the council’s ongoing approval. Mayor Kell Palguta says the issue can be discussed at the next council retreat. Zurcher’s appointment as vice mayor was unanimous.
