He’s the best newcomer to Congress. That’s what the advocacy group America First Insight says about Prescott area Congressman Eli Crane. He received the group’s Freshman of the Year award for the 118th Congress. The award was based on Crane’s A++ voting record. AFI gives letter grades to members of Congress based on votes on issues like immigration, economics, social issues, and foreign policy. Crane received an A on all of them except economics, getting a B on that issue.
More than half the members of Congress received an F from AFI. This includes Ruben Gallego, who is moving on to the U.S. Senate after defeating Republican Kari Lake in the election. He got a Super F, along with fellow Arizona representatives Raul Grijalva and Greg Stanton, while Juan Ciscomani got an F+. Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs received an A++ from AFI, and former Prescott area Congressman Paul Gosar got an A+.
