Local scoreboard from the weekend, in basketball, for the guys, Yavapai College KO’d Truman 71-51. Martin De Laporterie registered 22 points. Prescott lost to Mesa 74-65 and topped Cienega 82-57 at the Nike Tournament of Champions. Uriah Tenette put up 27 points versus Cienega. Bradshaw Mountain went 5-1 at the Mike Barr Tournament.
For the girls, Chino Valley went 2-2 at the Epic Tourneys Invitational.
In wrestling, Embry-Riddle rocked Arizona Christian 38-9. At the Mile High Challenge, Chino Valley’s Luis Aviles was champion in his weight class. Bradshaw Mountain’s Carlos Villarreal took third in his weight class. Brody Hanna and Eli Allen went 3-2 for the boys, and Jayla Wright and Natalie Nyysti went 3-2 for the girls for Prescott.
