APS Gives Winter Outage Tips

The Tri-City area finally had its first winter storm of the season Tuesday. While it wasn’t much of a storm, officials with APS want everyone to be prepared in case worse winter weather hits the area.

They recommend keeping your phone fully charged, having a flashlight with extra batteries handy, and stocking up on non-perishable food before a storm. If you have life-saving medical equipment, you can sign up for the APS medical care program to alert them in the event of an outage.

When there is a power outage, you can report it on the APS app and monitor the APS power outage map for updates in your area. Also, be sure to keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed to keep food cold.
