After two years of meetings, hearings, and revisions, the Prescott City Council on Tuesday adopted the airport overlay district on a 4-3 vote.
Public Works Director Chelsea Waldon went over the details of the district:
The overlay district is designed to reduce airport noise and protect the local airspace from the encroachment of tall objects. Council members Lois Fruhwirth, Brandon Montoya, and Eric Moore voted against it.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the city council passed the new rates and fees for the Prescott Regional Airport.
