PHS Boys Soccer Thumps Mohave

After taking a short trip to Cottonwood to take on Mingus on Wednesday, the Prescott boys soccer team had to take a long trip to Bullhead City on Friday for a match against Mohave. In this game, there was no home field advantage for the Thunderbirds. The Badgers were in control throughout most of the game and left the Anderson Fieldhouse with a 5-1 victory.

Five different players scored for Prescott: Casey Devito, Antonio Penaloza, Lincoln Aurich, Cole Schumann, and Daniel Apolinar. The defensive star of the game was A.J. Poynor, who made two saves on penalty kicks.

After dropping their first two matches of the new year by a combined score of 14-0, the Badgers have won their last two matches by a combined score of 12-1. Prescott is now 5-7 overall on the season and 2-0 in Grand Canyon Region play. The Badgers are off until January 27, when they host Flagstaff.
