The Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team gave as good as they got Thursday night versus Hope International. Both teams went back and forth in the first half and went into halftime tied 30-30. The game remained close throughout the second half, with the Eagles up by one with under a minute left in regulation. However, a layup and a successful free throw by the Royals sent Riddle to a 68-66 defeat.
Noah Gifft registered 14 points for the Eagles, Peter Dress notched 13 points, and Isaiah Wong and Jacey Canalin both tallied 11 points. The loss puts Embry-Riddle’s record at 8-10 overall and 3-2 in GSAC play.
It was also a tough night for the Riddle women at Hope International. They came up short, 60-48. Nicole Evanson was the only Lady Eagle to score in double digits, mustering 12 points. Riddle is 6-12 overall on the season and 1-5 in GSAC play.
Both teams are at The Master’s University tomorrow.
