Mary Mallory New Chairperson for Yavapai County BOS

A new chair of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors has been appointed by the board, effective Wednesday. District 5 Supervisor Mary Mallory is the new chair, succeeding James Gregory, who has served as chair since January 1st of this year. Mallory has been a member of the Board of Supervisors representing District Five since July 15, 2019. She has a long history of public service and community involvement in Yavapai County. Mallory said she is honored to be appointed as chair and looks forward to working with her colleagues on the board to address the challenges and opportunities facing Yavapai County.

“Mary Mallory is a dedicated public servant with a deep understanding of the issues facing Yavapai County. Her experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to serve the residents of our county,” said James Gregory, former chairman of the Board of Supervisors, who will continue to serve on the Board of Supervisors representing District 2 until February 19th.

Vice-chairman Brooks Compton said, “While the tradition of vice-chair taking the place as chairman is still very much alive, I decline the privilege. This important position is critical to the success of this board and wanting to lean on Supervisor Mallory’s years of experience and grace, I am nominating her to serve as our new chair.”
