The Bradshaw Mountain boys basketball team looked to move up in the state power point rankings when they hosted Coconino last night. The Bears went into the game number 20 in power points in the 4A Conference, while the Panthers sat at number 14.
Both squads stayed close throughout the entire contest, but in the end, Bradshaw Mountain came up short 49-46. Preston Ranniker was the Bears’ leading scorer with 13 points. Michael Crawford garnered 12 points and Mason Brambila chipped in nine points.
With the loss, Bradshaw falls to 16-11 overall on the season and 6-5 in Grand Canyon Region play.
The Bradshaw Mountain girls, meanwhile, were up in Flagstaff Thursday night to take on Coco, and came away 52-42 winners. Kalli Smith recorded a double-double for the Lady Bears with 16 points and eleven rebounds. Emma Johnson notched 12 points, including three three-pointers. Kenna Martinez dropped in eight points.
Bradshaw is now 9-12 overall on the season and 4-7 in region play.
