The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has released video of Wednesday’s incident where a suspect fled from police in Prescott and ended with his car exploding.
The suspect, 70-year-old James Crespo, was wanted on several felonies when sheriff’s deputies and Prescott police officers pulled him over in Dearing Park. Crespo allegedly fled from police, then held a blowtorch out his car window.
His car then caught fire, and the video starts at that point:
Crespo was airlifted to a Phoenix-area hospital to be treated for his injuries. The fire and explosion also damaged a sheriff’s office patrol vehicle. You can watch the video on the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
