Open Space Ordinance Placed on Prescott’s August Ballot

At Tuesday’s voting meeting, the Prescott City Council voted in favor of placing on the August 5th ballot, an ordinance amending the Prescott City Charter, for purposes of protecting city-owned open space in perpetuity. The ordinance and resolution passed on a 5-2 vote, with Mayor Goode and Councilman Gambogi dissenting.

The ordinance was modified, adding the Watson Woods Riparian Preserve and a parcel on West Granite Creek to the sites listed on the ordinance. The items were related to a citizen petition received by Council at the November 19, 2024 voting meeting and submitted by Bonnie McMinn & Rod Moyer.
