YCSO Arrests Sleepy Home Intruder

A Prescott homeowner made a shocking discovery… a stranger asleep in a bed in his house.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner’s security system went off around 4 a.m. Thursday at the home in Highland Pines. When he checked the property, he found the man in one of the beds. The intruder exited the house, and the homeowner confronted him in the backyard before deputies arrived. It was learned the suspect entered through an unlocked back door and decided that the home would be a good place for him to sleep.

Deputies discovered a backpack that contained knives, ammunition, and electronics lying near the bed the suspect had slept in. The intruder was arrested and charged with entering and remaining in a residential structure, while possessing deadly weapons.
