Prescott Man Fights Police K9 During Arrest in Cottonwood

A Prescott man was arrested in Cottonwood last Saturday on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. Cottonwood police report the suspect, as Jaxon Lopez Brann, was arrested after a concerned neighbor called police and reported seeing a television on inside the home, despite knowing the homeowners were out of town.

Upon arrival, officers located Brann asleep inside the residence. Officers made multiple attempts to wake him, but he refused to comply and kept his hands under the blankets. A K9 was deployed and bit Brann’s wrist. He then grabbed the dog’s muzzle. A taser was then used to subdue Brann.

Police officials say Brann was responsible for other attempted break-ins throughout the neighborhood the previous day. He was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center.
