A pair of former local athletes took home some nice awards at their new schools. Bradshaw Mountain alum Mason Hunt, who is now with Pima College men’s basketball, was named the ACCAC Division Two Freshman of the Year. He averaged 11.1 points per game in his first season of collegiate ball. “The Huntsman” also recorded 37 three-pointers, 121 rebounds, 30 steals, 23 assists, and 13 blocks.
In addition, Hunt was named to the All-Conference Third Team. In his senior season at Bradshaw Mountain, Hunt was named to the All-4A Conference First Team.
Meanwhile, ex-Yavapai College women’s basketball player Kishyah Anderson, now with Presbyterian College in South Carolina, was named to the All-Big South Second Team. In her first season with the Blue Hose, Anderson averaged 15.6 points per game – including a 40-point performance versus Gardner-Webb – and posted 146 rebounds, 48 steals, 34 assists, and 19 blocks.
While at Yavapai, “Shy” was a two-time All-Conference selection.
