Local scoreboard from the weekend, in baseball, Yavapai College lost two of three to Southern Nevada. Caleb Horsley had four RBIs and four runs scored in the Roughriders’ 22-9 win in the series finale. Bradshaw Mountain knocked off Mingus Friday and Poston Butte Saturday by identical scores of 13-3. Donovan Bayard and Garison Jones both had five RBIs over the two games. Chino Valley took care of Kingman 3-1. Jacob Boivin threw a complete-game victory.
In softball, Yavapai College dropped two of three to Arizona Western. Embry-Riddle lost three of four to Hope International. Bradshaw Mountain lost to Greenway 14-3. Chino Valley edged out Kingman 4-3. Kinsey Murphy was the winning pitcher with 12 strikeouts.
The Bradshaw Mountain boys volleyball team vanquished Tempe 3-0.
In track and field, at the Mangrum Invitational, Embry-Riddle’s Mia Kemp was second in the women’s 10,000-meter run. Jacob Ortiz was fourth in the men’s 5,000-meter run. At the Dutch Olivier Invitational, Prescott’s Luke Mason won the javelin for the boys and the girls 4×800 relay placed first. At the Greenway Invitational, Bradshaw Mountain’s Abigale Stapley won the girls’ high jump and was ninth in the 400-meter dash, while Trevor Head placed first in the boys’ 3,200-meter run. At the Sabercat Invitational, Chino Valley’s Michael Culasuonno won the boys’ pole vault, and Carlee Murphy was first in the girls’ 1,600-meter run.
