To ensure that county residents receive important messages on their cell phone, TV, or radio about situations like severe weather, emergencies, and missing children, the Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the National Weather Service Flagstaff Office, will conduct a county-wide test of the Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
This test will take place in conjunction with the weekly National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather radio test. The goal of this test is to make sure the systems work well to keep residents in Yavapai County safe and aware during real emergencies. The test will last about 30 minutes.
During the test, your phone will make a special sound and vibrate, like an Amber Alert. Only residents who have turned on test alerts on their mobile devices will get this test message.
