Petitions to run in the City of Prescott primary election were due to the City Clerk yesterday. Two candidates for the office of mayor have filed their petitions: Councilman Brandon Montoya and Councilwoman Cathey Rusing, who resigned from her council seat to run for mayor.
The three city council seats up for a vote this election cycle are being vied for by six candidates, all of whom have filed their nomination petitions by the due date. The candidates are: Mary Fredrickson, Robert Garing, Greg Lazzell, Henry Ebarb II, Jay Ruby, and Michael Kabbel.
The City Clerk’s Office has announced that the City of Prescott will be utilizing the Secretary of State’s Office online petition portal, E-Qual, beginning with the 2025 election cycle. This allows candidates to obtain up to the minimum number of required petition signatures digitally.
The City of Prescott primary election is on August 5th.
