Ex-ERAU Coach Burke Takes Over UofA Women’s Basketball Team

She’s coming back to Arizona. On the heels of winning the WNIT Championship last Saturday with the University at Buffalo women’s basketball team, Becky Burke has a new job. She has been hired as the new head coach of the UofA.

Burke had coached the Lady Bulls for three years. She takes over a Lady Cats program that went 19-14 this season, lost to Colorado in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament, then lost to NAU in the opening round of the WBIT. Burke replaces Adia Barnes, who departed the UofA to become the new head coach for Southern Methodist.

Prior to Buffalo, Burke was the first head coach in the history of the Embry-Riddle women’s basketball team. She led them for two seasons before moving on to the University of Charleston. After two seasons there, Burke coached South Carolina Upstate.
