A report of stolen tires at a Prescott business back on March 16th prompted an investigation by a responding Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputy. He discovered that approximately $7,000 worth of tires had been stolen. Security camera video of the theft was available and viewed, showing the suspect truck, which had Sonora, Mexico license plates. After inquiring, it was learned the truck was already near the Mexico border.
Just a few weeks later, on April 5th, Prescott Valley P.D. discovered the same truck was located at a tire shop in Prescott Valley and that a male, suspected of being the same person from the earlier report, was in the process of loading tires into a trailer.
The YCSO deputy and Prescott Valley P.D. responded and confronted 38-year-old Jose Armando Dorame, who admitted to involvement in taking the tires but claimed he had permission to do so. Dorame told the deputy he would take the tires down to his shop in Mexico to sell them.
The tire shop business told the deputy that Dorame did not have permission to take the tires. Dorame was arrested for theft, burglary, and fraudulent schemes.
