Five Prescott residents have submitted applications to become the newest member of the city council. According to City Clerk Sarah Seip, as of Monday afternoon five applicants have submitted their paperwork to be considered for an appointment to the empty seat on the Prescott City Council, which was vacated by Cathey Rusing, who resigned with two years remaining on her term to run for mayor in the August election.
The city will continue to accept applications until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Members of the city government hope to have a new member on the council seated sometime in May to serve out the remainder of Rusing’s term, which ends in November 2027.
