Jim Lamerson Withdraws From Seeking Open Seat on Prescott City Council; Five Applicants Remain

There were six people who applied to fill the open seat on the Prescott City Council. Now that number is down to five. Jim Lamerson announced Friday morning that he has withdrawn his application for the seat, citing health reasons. Lamerson had previously served on the City Council for 16 years.

The remaining applicants for the open seat are Sherri Hanna, John Stevens, Jim Garing, Patrick Grady, and Rex Mason. The council will review their applications at its May 13th executive session and select the finalists. Those finalists will be interviewed at a special voting meeting on May 20th.

The person selected will serve out the remainder of Cathey Rusing’s term. She resigned from the City Council to run for mayor.
