A Cordes Lakes woman is facing life in prison plus 55 years after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including first degree murder.
The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office says 60-year-old Bridget Nelson admitted to fatally stabbing her 93-year-old roommate, Carl Miller, 30 times in last year.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation began on February 17, 2024, when deputies responded to a residence in Cordes Lakes to conduct a welfare check on a 96 year old homeowner. His roommate, Bridget Marie Nelson, was found at the residence, and claimed the victim had traveled to Las Vegas several days before. The alert deputies noted inconsistencies in Nelson’s story, and eventually discovered the victim inside the residence. The victim had been stabbed 30 times. Nelson eventually confessed to stabbing the victim over several hours on February 15, 2024 before taking some of his property.
Neslon will be sentenced June 30th by Judge John Napper.
