Legislation sponsored by Prescott-area State Representative Selina Bliss to tighten marijuana advertising rules in Arizona is now law. Governor Katie Hobbs signed House Bill 2179 on Monday, following strong bipartisan support. The measure sets clear limits to prevent marijuana products from being marketed to children.
The law bans advertising that mimics candy, cartoons, or other imagery that could appeal to minors. Companies must follow stricter verification rules and will face tougher penalties for violations.
Bliss called the bill a step forward in protecting Arizona’s children, adding, “Parents deserve peace of mind.”
