Vanessa Brink brought her ace stuff in day two of the San Antonio Regional. But so did Middle Georgia State’s Emily Proctor. The two put on a pitcher’s clinic, with neither team scoring through seven innings.
Onto extras, and the Embry-Riddle softball team had two on with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but could not get the clutch hit. The Lady Dukes had a runner on third in the bottom of the frame, but also could not get her home. The Lady Eagles had a runner in scoring position in the top of the ninth, but left her stranded.
Then in the bottom of the ninth, Middle Georgia State’s Gabbie Haas had a sac fly to bring home the game’s one and only run, giving the Lady Dukes the 1-0 win and bringing an end to Embry-Riddle’s season. Brink struck out nine in her final collegiate game.
The Lady Eagles finish the 2025 season with a 28-13 record.
