Sedona Airport Named Arizona’s Airport of the Year

ADOT’s Airport of the Year is right here in Yavapai County. Sedona Airport has been named Arizona’s Airport of the Year for 2025. The award was given based on the airport’s commitment to community engagement, safety, and sustainability. Airport General Manager Ed Rose was also praised by ADOT officials for his outreach efforts, including roundtable events and service on local boards.

Improvements to the airport over the last year include designing a secondary access road, updating fire suppression plans with a 250,000-gallon water tank, and providing emergency training for first responders. The airport has reduced its environmental impact with bio-fuel jet fuel, LED hangar lighting, and energy-efficient heating systems following an ASU energy audit.

This marks the second time Sedona Airport has won the Airport of the Year award. The first time was in 1993.
