Stage Two fire restrictions are now in effect for Yavapai County. This action marks the first enforcement under the new Outdoor Fire Ordinance 2025-2, replacing the 2020 version. The restrictions—coordinated with the Department of Forestry, Bureau of Land Management, and Tonto National Forest—aim to reduce wildfire risk across areas including Ash Fork, Black Canyon City, and Yarnell.
The rules ban campfires, outdoor smoking, combustion engines without spark arrestors, and industrial operations with open flames. Certain LPG devices and enclosed vehicle smoking are exempt.
Restrictions will remain in place until conditions improve. Fire officials will monitor wildfire risk to determine when to lift the ban.
