The new Yavapai College campus is officially open, following an open house and dedication ceremony on Thursday. The college purchased the Prescott Pines property in April of 2024 in an effort to find creative solutions to a lack of housing for Yavapai College students and staff.
Associate Vice President of Community Communications Tyler Rumsay tells The News the District Governing Board tasked the college with finding a solution to the college’s housing crisis:
Rumsay reports the property housed 27 students and their families, and 14 staff members and their families this spring. He also says the college plans to utilize the infrastructure located at the property to the fullest, including using the space to host events, outdoor activities, and to maintain the property as a summer camp, beginning this year.
