A great way to cap off her sophomore season. Former Bradshaw Mountain softball player Yas Bernal was named to the NJCAA Division II All-American Second Team. She was one of three players from the Phoenix College softball team to receive All-American honors.
This past season, Bernal went 26-6 with a 2.28 ERA, 204 strikeouts, and 62 walks in 187 innings. She also threw seven shutouts. Those stats led to Bernal being voted the ACCAC Division II Pitcher of the Year.
Thanks to her performance, Phoenix College finished the 2025 season with a 54-8 record. They also made it to the Junior College World Series, where Bernal earned a save in the Lady Bears’ 3-1 win over Illinois Central.
