The Orchard Fire burning near Clarkdale is smaller than originally thought. According to the Verde Valley Fire District, the blaze is 65 acres in size and is located behind the Yavapai College campus toward Mingus Mountain.
The Orchard Fire remains uncontained, and crews are working to extinguish hotspots and strengthen control lines. Residents and visitors are urged to stay clear of the area.
Fire officials are also warning against drone use near the fire zone. Unauthorized drones pose a significant danger to aerial firefighting operations.
