YC Softball Gets Transfer Pitcher

The Yavapai College softball team just got a boost to its pitching staff. Sofi Wagner-Stiles is transferring to the Lady Riders from Talladega College, an NAIA school that is the oldest private historically Black college and university in the state of Alabama.

This past season for the Lady Tornadoes, the native of Maple Ridge, British Columbia went 6-1 with a 2.44 ERA, 93 strikeouts, and just six walks in 66 innings. Wagner-Stiles capped off Talladega’s regular season with a 6-0, two-hit victory over Rust College, striking out eleven. She was also named to the all-conference first team.

Wagner-Stiles joins a Yavapai College squad that went 22-23 overall, with a 1-2 record in the Region One playoffs.
