In the wake of the deadly flash floods in Texas, and with the monsoon expected to ramp up next week, Yavapai County officials want residents to be ready for flooding.
County Emergency Management Director Ashley Ahlquist says:

Ahlquist urges everyone to make sure all the weather alert features on your cell phone are enabled. She adds that unfortunately every year, someone does something dumb during heavy rains, like driving around a barricade to go through a low water crossing that is already flooded.
