Yavapai County is contributing to firefighting efforts in the Grand Canyon. Members of the Verde Valley Fire District and the Copper Canyon Fire and Medical District are battling the Dragon Bravo Fire.
The blaze began on July 4th from a lightning strike and has burned more than 55,000 acres. In addition, more than 70 structures have been destroyed, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge.
The wildfire is only 13 percent contained.
