Prescott Residents Taken for $2 Million by Scammers, says PPD

Despite all the warnings put out by local law enforcement and media, many Prescott residents are still falling victim to scammers, and it has cost them a lot this year.

If you believe you are the victim of a scam, contact your local law enforcement agency. The best advice in these situations is if you get a call, text, or e-mail from a person or organization you are not familiar with, ignore it.

Also, do not send money to anyone who unexpectedly contacts you, especially if they want payment by gift cards or cryptocurrency. Those are usually red flags for a scam.
