It was one bitter battle to claim the top spot in the GSAC men’s soccer pre-season poll. After all the votes were counted, the reigning conference champions, Hope International, got the number one spot with 72 points. Coming in a very close second is The Master’s University with 71 points, and in a very close third place is Embry-Riddle with 70 points.
Last season, The Master’s was the GSAC runner-up, while Riddle went 7-6-6 for a third-place finish in the conference, and lost to The Master’s in the conference semi-finals.
As for the rest of the GSAC poll, Arizona Christian and Park University tied for fourth with 48 points apiece. Benedictine-Mesa was fifth with 39 points, followed by La Sierra in sixth place with 38 points. Ottawa University took seventh in the poll with 35 points. Soka University came in eighth with 18 points, and Life Pacific, who had just one win last year, came in ninth with eleven points.
