Small drones have become a vital and effective weapon, not just on the battlefield but in deep strike missions as demonstrated during the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Iran war. The U.S. is also looking to boost its use of drones, and an Embry-Riddle soccer player is helping with that.
Jamie Black spent the summer interning with Raytheon, working on their Coyote drone program. She tells The News:
The U.S. Army has plans to purchase more than 6,000 Block Two Coyotes at a cost of $100,000 per unit.
Black is a three-time all-conference selection and a two-time NAIA scholar athlete for Embry-Riddle.
