The lack of monsoon rain has led to more wild animals making their way into the more populated areas of Prescott in search of food and water.
Along with people encountering more javelina and coyotes, Prescott Police Sergeant Casey Cook tells The News sightings of another animal are on the rise:
Cook says the Prescott Police Department is getting quite a few calls regarding wild animal sightings in city limits. When they do get calls regarding bears and mountain lions, Cook says they refer them to the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
He adds if you have pets, bring in their water and food bowls at night.
