There has been a reduction in fire restrictions for one area of Yavapai County. The county government has downgraded fire restrictions in Zone Two from Stage Two to Stage One. The decision follows recent rainfall and improved fire conditions. Stage One restrictions now apply to both Zones One and Two—covering Prescott, Cottonwood, Sedona, and the Verde Valley.
Under Stage One restrictions, open fires and outdoor smoking are banned, except in developed sites or enclosed vehicles. Explosive targets and tracer rounds remain prohibited.
Zones Three, Four, and Five, which include Ash Fork, Black Canyon City, and Yarnell, remain under stricter Stage Two fire restrictions, which were enacted in May.
