The Prescott Police Department is urging people to get rid of any unwanted medications. Police officials say keeping meds you no longer need increases the risk of misuse, theft, or accidental poisoning. It is estimated more than 100,000 Americans lose their lives each year to drug poisoning or overdose.
Unused meds can be safely disposed of at Prescott Police Department headquarters. Only pills, capsules, and tablets are accepted. Pills should be emptied into a ziplock bag and brought to the records department. Ziplock bags will be provided if needed.
