The first half of Friday’s game was completely owned by the Arcadia football team. The Titans were up 23-0 over Bradshaw Mountain at halftime. The Bears defense stepped it up in the third quarter, shutting out Arcadia in the frame while also finally getting on the board. The Titans, however, added on to their lead in the fourth quarter and handed Bradshaw a 37-8 loss in their season opener. Michael Sanford threw a touchdown pass to Landon Taggart. Kylin Jackson rushed for 110 yards and had a fumble recovery. Sebastian Witkowski recorded eight tackles.
Meanwhile, the Chino Valley/Highland Prep game ended prematurely after a melee broke out early in the third quarter. The referees stopped the game, and the AIA gave the win to the Cougars. The final score was 26-6. Levi Akans had two rushing touchdowns. Matt Sibole chucked two touchdown passes to Lyric Brooks and Maddux Brashier.
